One of the players who has been criticised a lot following the aftermath of this 3-1 defeat is Real Madrid’s star players Cristiano Ronaldo. Cristiano Ronaldo missed two great opportunities to get Real Madrid back into the game, and his performances has drew a lot of criticism from both the media and the fans. However, former Real Madrid player Guti has said that the fans and the media should not be criticising Cristiano Ronaldo because he is still a very good player in every word. However, he also said that Cristiano Ronaldo may not be at the same level as Lionel Messi, as many would have predicted just before the game. The Portuguese and the Argentine are very close to each other in terms of the number of goals scored this season, but Guti says that Lionel Messi is much better than Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Football is just like that. We all know they are the best in the world but if they do not play well two matches in a row, they will get picked on, too. Football is a rollercoaster and when things go your way, it seems like you are God, and no-one will get you out of your place at the top of the mountain, but when you are up there, you know that you can fall at any moment,” Guti said.
