RONALDO ON SHORTLIST

Uncategorized

The 23 man shortlist was released not long ago and coming as no surprise was the inclusion of the Portuguese winger of Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo.

For the past years it has been Lionel Messi the man to win all the awards and arguably is the best player in the world although things have recently been taking a turn in favor of the former Manchester United attacker.

Having only scored 1 goal in October it’s not the best of times for Messi meanwhile C.Ronaldo has been on fire scoring in almost all of Real Madrid’s matches and finally getting things going with his partner Gareth Bale.

It might be the moment needed for C.Ronaldo to dethrone Barcelona’s star Messi.

Gareth Bale was recruited by Real Madrid in September for a world record transfer fee of £80 million hoping that the Welshman can create a partnership with C.Ronaldo and break the rampage that Barcelona and Messi has bestowed for the past few years.

It wasn’t until Real Madrid’s latest La Liga match that Bale could finally proof his worth and create a stunning attacking trio with Benzema and C.Ronaldo as they smashed 7 goals past Sevilla and winning the match with a final result of 7-3.

The sensational and tantalizing form of C.Ronaldo seems like it cannot be stopped and now with the addition of Gareth Bale, this is the perfect time for him and Real Madrid to achieve European glory.

The Portuguese has scored 11 goals and created 1 assist in the last 8 matches for Real Madrid.

Even with his superb form, C.Ronaldo recently stated his fear about FIFA having favoritism over Messi and Barcelona.

“I wish Mr. Blatter health and a long life, with the certainty he will continue to witness, as he deserves, the successes of his favorite teams and players.”

After a lot of speculation that Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Real Madrid before the end of the transfer window, there appears to be no resolution in sight. It was only recently reported that Ronaldo had agreed a new five-year contract with Real Madrid, but the Portuguese star claimed that no deal had been agreed. This has once again intensified rumours that he will leave the club, but manager Carlo Ancelotti has once again stressed that the 28-year-old will remain as a Real Madrid player. President Florentino Perez has stated on several occasions that Ronaldo will spend the rest of his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, he has only two years left on his contract and there are rumours surrounding his future. He has been linked with a return to Manchester United, while French club PSG are also monitoring the situation. Ancelotti was speaking at the pre-season tour in the United States. He has said that the process of preparing a new contract and offering into a player is the responsibility of the club. As a manager, though, he believes that the player will stay at the club because he feels happy. Ronaldo has been enjoying one of the best spells of his careers. He has managed to become the fastest player in Real Madrid’s history to score 150 goals.

“The player wants to renew his contract and the club want him to renew it too, so I don’t think it’s going to be a problem. I think Cristiano and the club are relaxed about the issue. I don’t know when it will happen, but I am certain that Cristiano is going to renew his contract with Madrid. We are playing a match against a strong team, not against Mourinho. For us, it’s very important that we play well and give our all. We have to try and improve our fitness too, because the season starts soon,” said Ancelotti.

Former Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has revealed that he enjoyed a good relationship with Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo until the final months of his Real Madrid career. Ronaldo has progressed to an incredible level since moving to Real Madrid. He has scored more than a goal per game during the regime of José Mourinho. However, it is widely thought that the pair fell out with each other during the final days of Mourinho’s regime at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 50-year-old has hinted that it may be the case after he criticised Ronaldo for failing to stick with his tactics.

Ronaldo, in turn, is thought to have criticised Mourinho for his defensive tactics, which have failed to help the club win any titles last season. Mourinho, though, defended his record by saying that Ronaldo has possibly enjoyed the best spell of his career. The 28-year-old attacker is widely linked with a move away from Real Madrid after stating at the start of the last season that he was unhappy at the club. The Spanish club’s president Florentino Perez, however, has said that he will do everything within his power to keep Ronaldo at the Spanish capital.

Ronaldo is set to be offered a new deal by Real Madrid in the next few weeks.

“I had only one problem with him, very simple, very basic, which was when a coach criticises a player from a tactical viewpoint trying to improve what in my view could have been improved. And at that moment he didn’t take it very well because maybe he thinks he knows everything and the coach cannot help him to develop more. Cristiano has had three fantastic seasons with me. I don’t know if they were the best of his career because he had some fantastic moments with Manchester United,” said Mourinho.
