ANCELOTTI TARGETS RONALDO RETURN – REPORT

New Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti is targeting a sensational return for Cristiano Ronaldo according to the latest media reports coming out of Italy. It was revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Juventus for Madrid with Ancelotti in charge of the team.

Real Madrid have a new manager following the appointment of Italian tactician Ancelotti who spent last season at Premier League club Everton whom he led to tenth place at the end of the latest league season. Ancelotti has been appointed as the replacement for Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane who resigned from the role at the end of the just concluded. Frenchman Zidane ended his second managerial spell at Real Madrid at the end of last month due to the lack of support from club president Florentino Perez and his board members.

Ancelotti was unveiled as the new Madrid manager earlier on Wednesday and he spoke glowingly about Cristiano Ronaldo amidst the transfer rumours of a return to the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the star player for Ancelotti in his first spell at Real Madrid as he helped the club to win a tenth European trophy at the end of the 2013/14 campaign. Ronaldo scored one of the goals as Real Madrid beat city rivals and reigning Spanish champions Atletico Madrid 4-1 at the end of extra time in the Champions League final to win the much coveted La Decima. It was the first Champions League title for Ronaldo at Real Madrid. He went on to win three more Champions League titles under Zidane.

On the rumours linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a return to Madrid, Italian news outlet Corrieredello Sport reported that the return of Ronaldo could be one of the big moves for Ancelotti at the start of his second spell as the Real Madrid manager.

Real Madrid are not the only ones interested in re-signing Ronaldo with Premier League giants Manchester United also keen on the player. Ronaldo spent six years at Manchester United before moving to Real Madrid in an £80m deal in 2009.
